One of those days...

Have you ever known something was wrong and you couldn't put your finger on it?

Yeah, well I figured 'it' out. It's not as bad as I thought. It is just going to take some getting used to.

Perhaps some Maya will cheer me up.

PHENOMENAL WOMAN
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care.
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Rain, rain go away...

You know it is a good day when

-When you wake up to a kitten walking across your chest
-When you venture out to Borders and come home with two new books
-When you buy new Stila products
-When it pours and you have no choice but to curl up in bed with a good book

I guess I'll take some time now to reminisce about Ediburgh, Scotland.

Tracy, Lauren, Ali and I decided that our Easter break trip would be best spent in Scotland. We stayed at the Globtrotter Hostel, which was a 5 to 10 min. van ride into the middle of the city. Luckily, the shuttle was included in the cost of the hostel and it picked us up from the airport. The hostel was actually pretty nice, except for the fact that there were close to ZERO electrical outlets in the whole facility. Oh, and the large group of 14-year-old boys who were gallivanting around at 3 a.m.

We went to Edinburgh Castle -- which was where Mary Queen of Scots lived and where she gave birth to her heir to the English throne. The castle rests high up on a hill that looks down over the whole city; you can see both the new part and the old part. Also, we shopped on the Royal Mile, took a open top bus tour and ate fried Cadbury Eggs. I don't suggest doing the latter.

On Easter Sunday we went to a really nice church service at a church (whose name I can't recall) on the Royal Mile. After church we treated ourselves to a three hour Easter brushy. YUM YUM!

The night life there was great! We went to a Finnigin's Wake there and it was out of control. Scottish people are much more outgoing than British people.

If you get the chance I'd go to Edinburgh. It is a really cool place, even though 'nessie'(what they call the Lockness monster) doesn't live there.

So it's been awhile...

There have been a few adventures since I last posted. There was a trip to Scotland (sweet),a visit from the parents and a whirl-wind sight-seeing extravaganza of Italy. There was also a turmotulous plane ride to Rome, another awful one to LHR and then another ride with the good ol' Air India crew.

More on all of those exciting adventures later. For now I am back in Chesterfield Missouri and JOBLESS! Don't these people know that I spent my life savings in EUROPE last semester!?!?!? Also, I am signed up for two UMSL classes. Introduction to Art and Crime and Cinema (hopefully easy).

Ta ta for now!
